Grief Support

Grief makes it difficult to move forward.

In 2017, life took me down again. I lost my fiancé to sudden death from cardiomyopathy. He was 40 years old.

I remember writing this poem, while struggling to process the acute pain.

Within Days – A poem of grief.

So much can change within a day.
Sunshine.
Rain.
A bloom.
A weed.

Surprise.
Loss.
A ray of miracle.
A change so unexpected.
The heart shatters.
Its pieces almost unrecognizable.

Yet the sun rises again.
We breathe.
We remember.

So much can change within a day.

Grief is a passage.

It widens. It narrows. It returns.

I liken it to birth. It is a new life, a new way of being without this person physically in your life.

One day, it will seem like the world has ended. The next day, you will want to live FOR that person.

Grief is like the waves.

Some grief comes crashing to the shore.

At other times, it is gentler.

It can be predictable or not.

Grief is like the ocean.

It can hold us in its entirety – its immensity.

It can make us fearful as we battle the storms.

Next to it, we seem unable to overcome its power.

As Joseph Campbell said, “Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.”

Powers are there to be uncovered.

As Nora McInerny says in her TED talk, “We do not ‘move on’ from grief; we move forward with it.”

Learning to navigate grief takes time.

We grieve as deeply as we love. Grief is honoring and loving.

There is a passage that can allow you to move forward with your grief.

Move forward with grief.

I help face and acknowledge the vast feelings. Uncover surprises in your grief. Walk alongside to release guilt or the belief that you could have somehow stopped the death.

Grief is the ultimate loss of control.

I provide tools to be with your grief. Riding the waves and the spikes. And move forward.

How to hold sacred space in your life for your loved one.

The right guidance helps with grief.

There is no reason to suffer in silence and isolation.

I can help you move forward with your grief. You do not need to do it alone.

Start today. Right now.

With the right help, your days will continue.
